The layout of the ship was one of the biggest issues we had with the ship itself. And leaves me questioning if whoever designed this actually has ever been on a Disney Cruise? And some of the things that were changed, well if it’s not broke, don’t fix it. Castaway Cay and Nassau are the ports that this ship sails to.

Room Service on Disney Wish
We’ve never had a bad meal from room service onboard Disney Cruise Line, but none of them have been particularly spectacular, either. Consider it a somewhat utilitarian option to get food in your stomach without having to change from your bathrobe, and you’ll be set up for room service success. Keg & Compass is designed to feel like a viking ship, but with modern elements including TVs to catch up on the latest sports.
Worlds of Marvel
For those who use the porter service, you will be given character luggage tags to indicate when you can disembark. All luggage taken by the porter service must be set outside of the stateroom door the evening prior to disembarkation. The main thing I would change would be the flavor of the food at the rotational dining options. However, I didn’t feel that way at Mickey’s Festival of Foods or Marceline Market. Surprisingly, I would go on Disney Wish without my kids because this cruise exudes luxury. The only downside is that most of the adult-only activities that piqued my interest like spa treatments, and adult-only restaurants, cost extra.
Our Review of the Oceaneer Club onboard the Disney Wish
The adult specialty dining area features glam flourishes, and sprinkles in Beauty and the Beast characters and European stylization in a fashion that is surprisingly cohesive. This area is similar to Enchanted Rose Lounge at Grand Floridian, but miles better–more well-appointed, tasteful, and luxurious. As a whole, the speciality dining deck is an unequivocal upgrade on the other ships. Those varying themed spaces exist on the other ships, but the variety of styles is much more pronounced on the Disney Wish.

At ages 3 and 5, my boys love all things Disney but are both on the smaller side, so they would be shorter than many of the ride height requirements at Disney World or Disneyland. The Disney Wish Cruise gave them a mini taste of the Disney experience, but in an environment they could enjoy and manage. I think it is the perfect experience for families with young kids. Read on for my Disney Wish Cruise review, including everything we loved and everything I wish I had known before we took our Disney cruise to help you plan the best experience. Disney automatically adds $14.50 a day per passenger for tipping, which then gets distributed to dining room servers and stateroom attendants. Gratuities (18%) are automatically added to spa, salon, bar, and premium dining charges.

Similar to Bayou, it’s located near the center of the ship, without walls. Great for people watching without necessarily being in the center of things. Well, that’s at Hyperspace Lounge, decorated as a luxurious starcruiser. It’s an indoor/outdoor experience with a dry sauna, steam rooms, whirlpools, amazingly comfortable loungers, floor-to-ceiling windows, and unobstructed views of the ocean. In order to access Disney Wish Rainforest Room, you have to purchase a day pass.
Disney Wish Stateroom Pros
You might even notice a few familiar spaceships jetting by the windows, in between the hyperspace jumps. During dinner, the restaurant provides a table service experience with entrees made to order (still included in the cost of your cruise). This super hero themed restaurant offers a worldly menu inspired by the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Like the Arendelle restaurant, there’s a “dinner and a show” aspect to dining at Worlds of Marvel. You’ll also get an up-close (and maybe too personal) demonstration of Super Hero technologies, with appearances by Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Like most of our cruises, we decided to stay on the ship today. There is a lot to see and do on the new Disney Wish, and we wanted to make the most of it. The pear and tatsoi salad, burrata and prosciutto, and spiced ahi tuna. All three dishes were pretty average when compared to other cruise lines’ main dining room selections. Upon checking in at the restaurant, we were escorted to a table for six on the Roy Disney (starboard) side of the venue.
Is the Disney Wish worth the cost?
In our signature day-by-day Disney Wish Bahamas cruise review, we detail our 3 days onboard this new Disney Cruise Line ship. In the weeks leading up to the cruise, you will get the opportunity to choose a timeframe that you’d like to check-in. Although we choose to check in at 1, we ended up arriving a little after 11. Unlike most cruises, soft drinks, Powerade, and Vitamin Water are free on Disney Wish. In fact, Mickey’s Festival of Friends has self-serve stations for guests to get soft drinks and water at their leisure.
Are there a few things we’d like to have seen done differently? With ten years of waiting — not to mention all the years of extra anticipation once the ship was announced — expectations are bound to be sky high, and wishing begins to fill in the holes left by an absence of details. But despite that, even those who are jaded to the point that they’re bored by the same old ports and the same old cruising are sure to find something here that will wow you.
All locations had several options of an appetizer, salad, soup, entree, and dessert for you to select from, as well as a multi-course kids menu. These meals are all included in your rate, but alcohol is not, so you will have that added to your “key to the world” card and be charged automatically throughout the trip to the card on file. We didn’t check out any of the premium dining options as our kids did not want to go to the kids club in the evenings, but the spaces were beautiful, and the food looked delicious. The kids’ and adults’ spaces are separated by a heavy-duty curtain, which is ideal for different bedtimes and privacy.
The food items here were all served warm and freshly prepared. We really liked this casual food spot, and it was a clear winner over the buffet. Everything we sampled was good and better than many casual spots on other cruise lines when comparing the BBQ, grill, and cantina; however, Princess and Virgin definitely have better pizza. Relaxing in the shade for a bit, it was time to test out more of the stations at the Festival of Foods for lunch. Don grabbed some barbecue from Mickey’s Smokestack, while I grabbed chicken tenders and fries from Goofy’s Grill.
But don’t worry – you won’t be staring at your phone the entire time; rather, it’s a tool used to unlock magic all around the ship. Just be sure you download the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app before your cruise begins. There’s no shortage of pools and water splash zones onboard; ten, to be exact! Deck 11 is the home to most, though you’ll also find smaller ones scattered about elsewhere. For grown-ups wanting to get their Star Wars fix, Hyperspace Lounge is a great spot. This adult-exclusive lounge features exotic drinks along with a starfield view out the window thanks to some video technology reminiscent of that used in Skyline onboard the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy.
For those who want to be really close to the elevators, there are only two sets to choose from. And for those guests, we’d recommend choosing a room closer to the forward. We won’t likely be seeking out sailing on the Disney Wish in the near future, mostly because of her limited itineraries. The layout of the ship leaves a lot to be desired, and since you can find a less expensive Disney Cruise on another ship going to the same destination, we’d likely choose that over sailing on the Wish again any time soon.

The Vacationeer provides its clients with onboard credits of up to $1,000 to use toward spa/salon services and other purchases on the ship! What’s more, there’s no charge to use their planning services, and they always make sure you get the best possible price for your cruise. Our reviewers were astounded by the experience provided by the facilities at Senses Spa and Salon onboard the Disney Wish. The unique outdoor relaxation area sets it apart from the Senses Spas onboard any other Disney Ship.
When it comes to the pool deck, families have more pools and more deck space than ever before. The ship features six family pools staggered among tiered decks and surrounded by lounge chairs. There’s also the new Toy Story Splash Zone for the little ones and the first of its kind water attraction at sea, the AquaMouse. As guests wind their way through the tubing suspended high above the pool deck, they will be immersed in The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse animated shorts, complete with show scenes, lighting, and special effects. My honest review, I think the 3-night Disney Wish cruise is too short of an itinerary, especially to enjoy the destinations and the ship itself. In fact, we chose to skip Castaway Cay so that we could explore some of the ship’s water activities.
